In the past 2 months, we certainly haven’t slowed down! We were able to get foundations poured before the winter weather hit, and that meant that the steel and walls were soon to follow. Once that happened, things really started moving. If you look around the building, you’ll find roofers, HVAC, framers, drywallers, plumbers, electricians, painters, and bricklayers all working on different parts of the building at the same time. Our staff met on site to pray over the space and we were amazed at what the Lord is doing right in front of us. Suddenly, June doesn’t feel very far away. And we CANNOT WAIT to see students fill this space, to know that students (close to Jesus and far away from him) will be filling this space together. The dream was for this to be a beacon of light for students, and we’re watching it happen.
We had many amazingly generous end-of-the-year gifts from individuals, businesses, and churches. At this point, we are officially 91% fundraised. (This, in case you missed it, is an absolutely undeniable, mind-boggling, humbling, praise inducing miracle!) We have $332,000 left to raise, and are daily praying that the Lord would help us enter into this new phase of ministry debt-free. Pray that with us!
As the coffeehouse area, ministry lounge, counseling center, and ministry spaces all take shape, we couldn’t be more excited. What’s the most-asked question in this phase of construction? It’s “are you on schedule?” And yes! We are on schedule to open this June.
